After having graduated at the Law Faculty of Geneva University and passed the Bar exam in Geneva, Laurent J. Winkelmann lived a few years in the US (New York City and Richmond, VA) where he obtained an LL.M. Degree (New York University) and worked within a reputable international law firm (Hunton & Williams). Upon his return to Geneva, he has worked one year at the law firm Secretan Troyanov and joined, end of 2003, the law firm NOMEA of which he became a partner a few years later.

Laurent J. Winkelmann is active in general business law and practices more specifically banking and financial market law, corporate law, mergers and acquisition, contract law and national/international transactions, their financing and the guarantees and other real sureties in relation thereto. He practices banking and financial market law within private assignments from banks, broker-dealers and other financial intermediaries as well as within official assignments from Regulatory and Supervising Authorities. He also practices criminal law and international assistance in criminal matters relating to economic and financial issues. Laurent J. Winkelmann practices also in legal matters relating to real estate and complex family law matters (inheritance and divorce). In matters relating to real estate, he seats as judge assessor in disputes relating to lease agreements.
